Hello! My name is Alyssa, and I am an artist originally from New Jersey. I have loved making photographs from an early age, and over the years, I have been developing my own artistic style. My expressive scanography self-portraits have been my artistic focus for the last few years and through them, I aim to blend my knowledge of painting-like compositions, and textures with my knowledge of photographic techniques and practices. My photographs showcase an understanding of the elements of light and shadow and utilize these to creates warmth and energy. In addition to self-portraits, I also create documentary-style work as well as portraiture work which is primarily unplanned and genuine, embracing Henri Cartier-Bresson’s idea of the "decisive moment".
